Are you a beer lover and are planning to come soon to Lanzarote? If so, don’t miss this new post in which we will visit the most unique craft breweries of the island. Come with us to discover, taste and enjoy these singular and refreshing drinks.

MALPEIS

Our first stop will be in Tinajo, where is situated the brewery Malpeis, very close to the church of this beauty town.

The place is small but very friendly, and offers a terrace with wonderful views, where you can enjoy three types of beers: Jable, is the lightest one, with a citrus aroma and 5,3 degrees; Bermeja, very aromatic and powerful, with 6,7 degrees; and Rofe, with a coffee taste, sweet smell and 7 degrees. The best thing, without a doubt, is to try all of them!

NAO

Next, we invite you to go to Arrecife, the capital of the island, and discover there our second brewery, Nao, located in Foque street, number 5. Here, in this small property, in the past a fishing net garage,  with a quiet atmosphere and blue and white colours in its decoration, we stop to discover which beers they offer us. They are the following: La Gloria, very refreshing and similar to a very sour cider with 3,8 degrees; La Marinera, soft and also very refreshing with a proof of 4,8; Capitán, made with three malts and 5,4 degrees; Mucho, bitter and strong; Black Patrón, with four barley malts and cereals from the islands; and Maresía, made with malvasía grape and barley malts from Alemania.

With this great variety of beers, we are convinced that if you come here, you won’t leave without trying some of them!

AGÜITA

Tahiche town will be our next destination. We will go specifically to Los Aljibes restaurant, located in the road to Costa Teguise.

Here is made Agüita, considered the first traditional beer of the island.

Before trying it, we can visit its factory, which is opened to the public, and then have a seat in its amazing terrace and enjoy some of the five kinds of beers they make. They are the Tea beer, with a proof of 4,7; Agüita, fruity and roasted with 4,8; Helles Beer, a lager with 4,5; the Oktober Fest, a beer double malt; and finally, Pikon, a porter with a proof of 4,4 degrees.

We already tell you that, it won’t be easy to choose just one, so we invite you to try some of them while enjoy the excellent environment in which is situated this restaurant.

Here we finish this route with the traditional beers of the island, and probably will do it, wishing to repeat soon, because it is always a pleasure to the palate tasting local products like theses, unique and natural, and refreshing as well!
