Today we take you to a gastronomic route in Lanzarote. We have made 2 options as you can enjoy the best of the island tasting the best local products.
Gastronomic route in the south of the island
There is nothing better to start the day than eating a good breakfast. We invite you to visit the different coffee shops that you will find in the narrow streets around de San Ginés church in Arrecife and you will have energy to spend the day.
With a good breakfast in our stomach) everything looks different, so we take the opportunity to walk around the bay of Arrecife and visit the emblematic area of Charco de San Ginés. From here we move to the center of the island, where we will visit the “Monumento al Campesino” before arriving at La Geria, an indispensable in our route. A glass of wine accompanied by a bit of cheese will help us to keep our stomachs full until lunchtime.
If you like seafood, don´t hesitate, in El Golfo you can taste fish and shellfish, always accompanied by the typical potatoes and the original sauce “mojo picón”. It could be a good idea to have the dessert in the avenue of Playa Blanca. Artisanal ice-creams are a good option.
And to see an unforgettable sunset we move to Femés, from there we can see the views while we drink something in one of the terraces that we can find there. It is the perfect place to end the day.
Gastronomic route in the north of the island
This time we go to the North and there is nothing better than to start the day having breakfast with sea views in one of the terraces of Costa Teguise. After breakfast and if the weather is good, we could take a bath in the „Jablillo Beach“ or „Las Cucharas“.
We continue our way and we go to the inland, La Villa de Teguise waits us. We will walk through its narrow streets and refresh ourselves by drinking something in one of the terraces that we will find in its cobbled streets. We continue the way and pass the town of Los Valles, a little further on we find a detour to the Hermitage of Las Nieves. A good option to get stunning views of the Famara coast.
After this stop you will be surprised with the views, but we assure you that there is still much more to discover. Keep going through the curves of Malpaso and arrive to the town of Haría, where the most carnivorous could taste good meat in one of its restaurants. And as we will have to low the lunch … Do you dare to go around the town and count the palm trees? Is it true that there are 1000 palm trees here?
Sunset is coming, so we recommend you to see it from the coast, we are going to Famara Beach, and we advise you that sunsets there are a dream. Relax and walk along the beach while listen the whisper of the waves and see how the sky is stained with oranges and reds. For end the day we will go to the town and have a drink or dinner in one of its restaurants, we recommend especially fish and seafood from the area.
