As you ascend, Canary Island pines and junipers appear, which have adapted to the drier and rockier conditions inside the caldera. Additionally, there is a great diversity of endemic plants, such as the violet of Teide and the red tajinaste, which add a touch of color to the volcanic landscapes.    


The fauna of the Caldera de Taburiente is equally fascinating. Among the most prominent birds are the raven, the kestrel, and the petrel, which soar through the caldera skies. As for mammals, although more difficult to spot due to their elusive nature, wild goats and bats can be found in some areas.
